LIGHT

Hey Fam!

This week has been incredible and hard and frustrating and fun. I think that is the only other way to describe it! :) But first before i forget... CONGRATS JORDAN AND KAYLEY!!! YOU ARE OFFICIALLY MARRIED!!!!!! taken off the available list for time and all eternity! Woot! :) haha

So last Monday we were supposed to meet with A. and K. (the guys from central american who only speak Spanish) we were running around last monday trying to find a translator, and couldn't and so we somehow were able to get the message across on the phone that we'll postpone their lesson. We finally got our brains working and remembered that in the YSA branch here there's a guy who just got off his mission a few months ago, so we'll be teaching with him. They love it though! They haven't had a 'real' lesson yet, just more of a get to know you visit ;) but they've come to church now 2 weeks in a row and they love it!

B. and T.: they are the BIG update! So for the first lesson with B., T. was like " you can convert her all you like, but good luck trying to get me." hehe :) The Spirit accepted the challenge!! :) Tuesday we taught them the power of family scripture study and prayer, and then we all knelt down in their little mobile home together and for the first time in this life they said a family prayer. We asked T. to say it, and taught him how. I cannot describe the Spirit that was felt there, but when he asked our Heavenly Father is this church was true and when he broke down in tears and said 'God, when can i be baptized? I want to live with you and with my family forever.' I cried. After he finished his prayer. We just knelt in silence then, little K. (she's 7) whispered in my ear "Sister Byers can i talk to God too?" So i helped her say her 1st prayer to her Heavenly Father. There has never been such a wonderful time in my life where I KNOW THAT GOD LIVES. HE LOVES EVERY SINGLE ONE OF HIS CHILDREN AND HE WANTS TO HEAR FROM THEM. I started helping her, and then she just took the reigns and asked 'God are you real?' HE IS SO REAL. SO REAL. Long story short, T. has a baptismal date set for September 28th because he has some WoW issues that he's trying to quit from. B. is so excited to be married next weekend and to be baptized on august 31st. 

The rest of this week was HARD. We had a lesson with the B's. The mom, A. is a convert 15 years ago but has been less active for about 14 years. and her son A. (9 years old) has his baptismal date for September 21st. But we're working with both of them as well as D. (12yrs) and she just got back from girls camp and LOVED it. So we're praying for them. 

T.- she and S. are going to take awhile. but it'll be good. :)

How many other barns do you know that serve as a clubhouse?!?! :) and i believe instead of water hazards they have corn field hazards! haha :) Goodluck trying to find your ball in there!! :)

So we listen to this one CD in our car as we drive places (12 songs and on avg 3 hours of driving each day- yah we have the songs memorized :) i wish there was a deseret book here) but one of the songs it has the line "what good is a crown if you don't wear it" SO TRUE! It hit me so hard this week! We have been tracting for days. and people notice something about us. They tell us we're happy, we're different. Because we know 'Who we are, and Whose we are- sons and daughters of God" (sister Dalton, april GC) What good is there that we have the light of Christ, the truth, this knowledge if we don't share it with those in darkness? They are sons and daughters too and they are searching for the truth whether they know it or not, but once they find it- they'll know they're home. How many people do we know (whether are baptized or not) that haven't found out for themselves where the light is? Where they can turn for peace and comfort? Where they can find answers to the their questions? Where they can receive eternal joy? They are out there. and they want to come home in the light of their Savior Jesus Christ. Share your light with all those around you. Be not afraid. It's what makes us different that will change one of their lives!

The D's (an older couple in our area) are incredible! :) they have had all of their children fall away from the church, but know that someday they can return. Their son who also lives in our area- S. went on a mission and came home and started dating M. and fell inactive. M. has never been part of any religion, and they invited us over for dinner. M. was so intrigued by what we are doing and why we are out here. The D's know that we're obedient and see the Spirit we bring with us, and wanted to introduce us to their son and daughter in law. M. has invited over now every other day, whether just to chat about the gospel or inviting us over for dinner. But she told Brother D. that she loves having the missionaries over because there's something different about them. And he just told them that it is the Light of Christ. Let your light shine. Because whether you know it or not, someone is looking. and they will want it for themselves!

I love you all so much and I hope you're enjoying it so much in the beautiful Canadian mountains. Oh how i miss mountains!! I saw my first hill yesterday! It was like 5 ft high.... and take the wave runner on a spin for me! ;) I love you and make it the best week ever!! :)
