This week. According to our plans- a total nightmare. According to the Lord- perfect. Don't you love it when Heavenly Father has a sense of humor?!? :) He's definitely teaching us a few things. :)
This week we had our tire slashed (yet is hasn't popped) and SLC hasn't gotten back to us to approve us to get a new tire, but we have appts, so we drive with a slashed tire and pray we don't get stranded out in the corn fields. so far we've been okay. hopefully today we'll receive the approval.
We blew some breaker in our apt and with all 6 of us sisters trying to fix it we still don't know how!!! It's crazy. yes you may laugh :) but in our defense it's not just a little switch... so that will be our project today :) HOME DEPOT!! Woot! So we've been studying our scriptures and showering by flashlight :) it is definitely an adventure :) we just say we're camping ;)
So I do have some BIG NEWS!!! This weekend was the Toledo Stake Conference. And President and Sister Vellinga showed up. After the conference was over, Pres. pulled sister Caldwell and I over and said, " Sisters it's going to be a good idea if you start working on your Spanish" WHAT?!?!? Yes, there are quite a bit of latinos in the area who work in the fields. we've met so many, but can't really communicate so we cant teach them, but president wants us to learn SPANISH so we can teach them!! HELP????? I have no spanish tools whatsoever. haha :) power of prayer maybe? :)
This week is now the 9th week that we haven't had a ward mission leader. NINE WEEKS. And B.'s baptism was supposed to be this week (aug 31) but we pushed it back to (sept 7) because Satan is mean, and they were evicted from their home and a lot of other things are going on. So both b. and m. will be baptized in a couple of weeks (sept 7) but since we don't have a mission leader and our ward hasn't had a baptism in forever, and so sister caldwell and i are running around trying to figure out everything that needs to get done. it's awesome :) well we're learning to love it! :)
So now for some of our investigators :) B. and T.: they got evicted yesterday/ or going to get evicted? We still aren't sure about what's going on.... but her bapstism was supposed to be this week, but after talking with our DL last night we deceided to push it back to next saturday with M. (sept 7) so keep both of them in your prayers
M.: Satan, satan, satan is so mean. But with God all things can be overcome. We were teaching him on thursday and in the middle of our lesson he got a phonecall from his dad saying that his grandma (who practically raised him and basically is his mom) just passed away. During our lesson. so we just quickly left so he could run to the hospital. the thing is- he's gained a testimony of the bom and joseph smith, but thought the plan of salvation was just too good to be true. On saturday we came by again and his heart is so open and ready to know these things. He's been reading and praying and has felt so much peace!! YAY!!! :)
M.: she's just on fire. she's awesome and life is great with her :)
B.s: after spending hours doing service for her and stuff and we come over every other day to read the bom with them. its aweosme. they're really struggling in so many different ways and their family is so broken and crazy it is so sad and depressing. so it's been a headache trying to figure them out.
Well everyone i just realized that this is my 2 month mark since i left! that is so weird! I swear it was just yesterday! that means i'm an 1/8 of the way done. how sad!! :( but i love it here so much and everything that we deal with on a day to day basis is so planned. so crazy everythign that happens but i know that as we continue to trust and rely on our Heavenly Father we can find peace and understanding. I love my Savior. I love this gospel. and just as pres. Vellinga always says "GO TO HEAVEN, but not yet! :)"
I love you and I'm always praying for you!!!
